Exfoliation gently removes dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, brighter complexion. This step improves texture, enhances absorption of your products, and supports a healthy, radiant glow.

There are two types of exfoliation: mechanical and chemical.

  • Mechanical

    1. Involves using a product with small particles to rub off dead skin cells. The result is fresh and radiant skin.

    2. Not recommended for skin with active acne breakouts

    3. Massage the exfoliant onto wet skin, avoiding the eyes

    4. Rinse off with water

  • Chemical

    1. Uses an acid-based liquid

    2. To keep it simple:

      1. AHA = works at the surface to treat wrinkles and sun-damaged skin

      2. BHA = penetrates into the pores to dissolve sebum and dirt. If you have oily skin and/or acne, BHA will be your best friend!

    3. A word of warning: If you do this step in the morning, do apply a sunscreen for the day because the acids reduce the skin’s natural protection from the sun

    4. Spread an even layer of the product over your face using your fingertips or a flat brush, avoiding the eye and lip areas. Let it sit for the amount of time specified in the manufacturer's instructions.

    5. Rinse and pat dry
